Where this comes from

Visa, Mastercard and American Express publish the documents these pages quote, and every code page names the source behind each fact. Discover does not publish its dispute rules openly, so its pages rest on agreeing secondary sources and say so. All sources were read on 2026-09-08. Your acquirer sets your actual deadlines, and they are often shorter than the network limit.
