What the card network charges
A compliance case is not a chargeback. The card network opens one when it says one of its rules was broken on a payment, not because the cardholder is disputing the purchase.
Contesting one costs a $500 network fee, charged by your payment provider on top of its usual dispute fee and returned to you if you win. It is taken a day or two after your response goes in, and it is separate from anything we charge.

What a lost dispute costs
A lost dispute costs you the disputed amount, your payment provider’s dispute fees and, on a compliance case, the network fee. We charge nothing for it.
When a dispute is for less than twice your payment provider’s fee, its page shows that fee while the dispute is waiting for your response.
What we never charge for
You will never be charged for:
- Alerts. We do not sell them.
- A dispute you answer yourself, by copying our draft or downloading it.
- A dispute you lose.
- A dispute that closes as Withdrawn, after the charge is refunded.
- A dispute that closes without a decision, such as an inquiry that never becomes a chargeback.
